Ampliando infraestructura

En mayo superamos por primera vez los 10 millones de páginas vistas (en junio, a falta de que OJD publique los datos, lo volvimos a hacer) y durante estos meses estamos preparando la infraestructura de servidores que nos permitan seguir creciendo sin problemas.

Desde que tuvimos un "pequeño" percance con un servidor hace tiempo me he vuelto un paranoico de la seguridad, las dobles copias, los backups y todas esas cosas.

Hasta hace unos meses teníamos 2 servidores en EE.UU., un Pentium IV con 1 Gb d RAM y un Xeon 3,2 GHz con 4 Gb de RAM. Ahora, tras reestructurar nuestras máquinas, tenemos 3 servidores en Europa:

- Doble CoreQuad (8 núcleos 2,66 GHz) y 12 Gb de RAM
- Core 2 Duo (2 núcleos 2,33 GHz) y 4 Gb de RAM
- Core 2 Duo (2 núcleos 2,66 GHz) y 4 Gb de RAM

Todos ellos tienen discos en RAID. Además realizamos un backup externo diario por FTP, rsync periódicos entre ellos y más backups en Amazon S3, que también utilizamos para hospedar vídeo.

Con estas "bestias pardas", tenemos una infraestructura que en teoría nos tendría que permitir escalar sin problema varios millones de páginas vistas más. Ojalá pronto necesitemos ampliarla, supondría que nuestro tráfico ha crecido muchísimo, pero no creo que suceda :P
